5 Cheap Laptops That Can Run Elgato Game Capture HD (2022)

That’s why I have listed down the 5 best cheap laptops for Elgato HD 60s considering CPU, GPU good amount of memory, and maximum numbers of ports that are must for Elgato capture card.

Alienware M15

The Alienwarem15 is the best laptop for Elgato HD60s if you need a high-performance laptop for console video gaming that captures and streams smoothly.

With its brilliant OLED display, 100 sRGB, and 7 ms screen response time, this display is excellent for live gaming coverage, 4K video editing, and other graphics work.

Performance of the CPU and GPU

The 8 core 16 thread CPU provides you with 3.9 to 4 GHz and a score of 3743 on the Elgato capture card balanced profile. This is a high score. Games like Gears 5, Ori and the Will of Wisp, and Forza Horizon 4 boasted more than the magic 74 frames per second at medium settings. This allowed me to enjoy a refresh rate of 144.

Games world environment performance rates showed a much higher number in the GPU section as well.

Through Elgato HD60s, your artistic game design is presented in brilliant color with the RTX 3060 series.

I know most Elgato users wish to connect at least a few more external gadgets such as a headphone, a mouse, a keyboard, and a microphone. However, this beast allows you to do so with ease.

Ports selection

  • On the left side of the device, it has
  • Two full-size high-speed USB 3.2 Type-A ports,
  • a full-on ethernet jack
  • A headphone jack

On the right side of the device it has…

  • A micro-sd card slot
  • USB Type-A port

On the backside

  • A full-size HDMI 2.1 port
  • A 1.4 mini display port
  • A thunderbolt 3 port
  • A 65 watt USB type- C port
  • Alienware graphics amplifier port
  • A power port for the 240-watt power supply

The laptop has 11 ports, so using it for Elgato HD60s wouldn’t be better than this beast.

If you’re looking for external graphics card enclosures, the Alienware graphics amplifier port will take your video streaming and capturing performance to the next level.

RAM and STORAGE and its upgradability

Although the actual storage is 512 GB SSD, you have the opportunity to upgrade the storage because there are three M.2 ports. This is a significant advantage for all Elgato users.

Performance of thermal tests

GPU and CPU power was pushing without crashing. In a single-core system, the CPU can heat more power than the GPU.

As a result, the GPU gets hotter twice as fast as the CPU when running multi-core workloads. The Alienware M15 is a capable laptop for running Elgato HD 60s.

Stealth 15M from MSI

The MSI product is one of the most powerful and cheapest laptops for Elgato HD60s. It has an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with a dedicated graphics card with an RTX0 GPU. With 144-hertz refresh rates, MSI Stealth is a fantastic laptop for gaming, console gameplay, and streaming.

Elgato capture switch performed really well with this laptop since it has some nice modern standards like PCI 4th generation, thunderbolt 4, etc. This laptop had an excellent response time, but its color gamut, brightness, and backlight were average and could have been improved. However, its performance inside the system was excellent and perfectly suited to Elgato’s requirements.

Check out the performance of the main components responsible for eggless live streaming.

Performance of the CPU

As this laptop has got an amazing newer generation 10 nanometers super-thin inner core i7 processor with fantastic CPU base frequency 3.3 GHz and turbo-boosted frequencies up to 5 GHz, this laptop is really a better option for Elgato hd60s compatible tests like live video game streaming.

GPU performance

The GPU is a 8-nanometer NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card with 6 gigabytes of video memory onboard. This is absolutely insane when it comes to video gaming, online coaching, or making 4K videos, as well as recording or streaming them in 1080p.

Selection of ports

When using an Elgato capture card, ports are essential. Another amazing feature of this laptop is its selection of ports.

The Elgato HD60s comes with a 4th generation thunderbolt port on the right side for the fastest data transfer rate.

  • Your Elgato HD60s has a 4th generation thunderbolt port on the right side where you can get the fastest data transfer rate.

Besides on the right side,

  • The USB 3.2 Type-C port supports the fastest power delivery.
  • MicroSD card reader,
  • Audio Combo,
  • Elgato users will benefit from an HDMI port that provides extra performance.
  • USB Type-A port

RAM and its upgradability

A total of 16 gigabytes of dual-channel memory at 3.2 GHz with two sticks of 8 GB RAM are included. The Elgato HD60 is absolutely fantastic for playing console games.

RAM can be upgraded up to 64 GB, of course.

Thermal test performance

I have run a stress test by Aida64, and the CPU temperature was throttling when the stress test was running. In extreme mode, the thermal effect was removed. On the other hand, the GPU clock speed was better than the CPU and the GPU was able to operate at 65 watts.

Having used many laptops for gaming, streaming, and creating video content for sharing for 10 years, it’s rare that I come across a device that makes me go WOW!

The Elgato HD 60s capture card makes this laptop one of the most suitable laptops for the GIGABYTE Aero 15. This laptop has a superb 4K OLED screen. You have to see it to fully appreciate it. Despite being 100% RGB, 96% Adobe RGB, and 99% P3, the brightness was too accurate for me.

You can also upgrade the RAM and SSD storage of this laptop up to 64 GB and 1 TB, respectively.

Performance of CPUs and GPUs

The Intel Core i7 -9750H and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660ti make broadcasting events, editing 4K video, and video editing in 4K an enjoyable experience with eye-catching colors.

In podcasting and streaming video at 1080p and 240Hz, you can get the highest performance. In gaming, you can find average performance. The performance in single-core and multi-core was relatively low but is better than some other very expensive laptops.

Selection of ports

With its wide port selection, you can meet your connectivity needs for the Elgato game capture card.

Right side –

  • Power connection port
  • Thunderbolt 3 port
  • USB Type-C port
  • 2 USB 3.1 gen1 port
  • USH 2.0 card reader

On the left side –

  • HDMI 2.0 port
  • USB 3.1  Type-C port
  •  Audio jack port
  • Display port
  • Headphone 3.1 port

Razer Blade 15

One of the few Windows gaming laptops that do not compromise performance is the Razer Blade 15. It is a capable machine with a couple of unique features.

Capturing video games does not cause any lag.

In case you are looking for a laptop with excellent build quality and a sleek aesthetic, Razer Blade 15 is the right choice.

Performance of the CPU

In gaming mode, the intel core i7 10750H 6 core was able to provide an average clock speed of 3.6 ms and balanced performance.

While performing any task under volt, the Elgato HD60s performed better and faster than non-volt devices.

GPU performance

GPU performance is better and a bit higher than CPU, especially when playing games and streaming them.

During the test of capturing and recording through Elgato HD60s, the NVIDIA RTX 2060 performed perfectly.

I played and streamed dozens of games including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at 65 frames per second, Gears 5 at 81 frames per second, Apex Legends at 75.5 frames per second at max settings, and 94 frames per second at medium settings. Overall I got satisfactory results.

Selection of ports

As usual, this laptop has decent connectivity ports. Let’s take a closer look at what’s relevant.

Left side –

  • Power connector,
  • Ethernet port
  • USB type-A
  • Audio combo jack

On the right side –

  • Noble laptop lock port
  • Mini display output port
  • HDMI port
  • USB Type-A port
  • Thunderbolt 3  port

There is no doubt that all of these ports will meet the demands. I had no worries when using this laptop.

Upgradability of RAM and storage

Razor Blade 15 has just the right amount of specs inside.

With 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD, the Elgato capture card will keep you relaxed and worry-free.

You can upgrade your main and secondary memory on this laptop.

This allows you to record, stream, and capture any kind of multitasking.

Thermal test performance

When gaming with Elgato HD 60s in gaming mode, it was average compared to many other gaming laptops I have tested.

In the severe workload stress test, the GPU and CPU systems got decent power supply coverage.

For Elgato HD60s, it is difficult to find a laptop with a powerful CPU, GPU, and all the necessary ports within a reasonable price range. Lenovo Legion 5 is the right device due to its price point, aesthetic, clean design, cooling system, and quieter performance. This year, it has been upgraded from last year.

They had a Legion Coldfront of 3.0 last year, and a Legion Coldfront of 4.0 this year.

The display of the Legion is quite impressive, with a 165-hertz refresh rate, G-sync, and NVIDIA Optimus.

With 300 nits of brightness and 100 sRGB color accuracy, it will offer the fastest screen response time.

Due to this, laptops that can run Elgato HD 60s are very difficult to come by these days.

CPU performance

In terms of performance, the Ryzen 7 5800H is pretty impressive. With 3.2 GHz at its base speed and 4.4 GHz in turbo boost mode, it’s a great choice for streaming applications. In terms of data processing, this laptop has done a great job.

Performance of GPUs

With NVIDIA RTX 3050 ti, this laptop should be able to stream games at a higher frame rate than GTX 1660 or RTX 2060.

Streaming through Elgato HD60s on this laptop and playing all games in performance mode produced amazing results.

Selection of ports

Compared to last year, the management of ports is really impressive.

The left side has

  • a USB 3.2 gen 2 Type-C port
  • 3.5 mm audio combo jack port
  • Air exhaust vent

On the right has

  • A USB 3.2 gen1 Type-A port
  • Camera disconnect switch

On the back

  • Ethernet port
  • USB 3.2 Type-C port
  • Three more USB Type-A ports
  • HDMI 2.1 port
  • Thunderbolt 3 port

The Elgato HD60s capture card has many ports, so you can experience dynamic performance when you are capturing, recording, or streaming video live.

MEMORY and its upgradability

If you want more specs for multitasking, you can upgrade both the primary and secondary memory. As a result, you do not have to worry about the specs.

With the Elgato capture card, I ran thermal tests. The CPU temperature always spiked up to 90 degrees during the stress tests, but Lenovo managed to manage the heat during gaming because of the updated bios.

Users of the Elgato HD 60s will be able to play games, edit videos, create content, stream, and share very smoothly with this feature.

A Quick Guide – Budget Laptop With Built-In Memoryy Card HD

If you plan to play games, do online training, and stream on the same laptop, you must consider these parts.

  • Processor
  • Graphics Processing Unit
  • Ports
  • Thunderbolt
  • Memory
  • Thermal performance

Traditionally, the most critical component of Elgato hd60s compatible laptops is the CPU. Most of the good gaming, workhorse, and workstation laptops come with hexacore processors.

In my experience, 6 cores will really do the trick.

You will need a laptop with at least 1600 graphics processing units. In order to get flawless and uninterrupted performance, get laptops with at least RTX 20 graphics cards. This is if you’re planning to be gaming and streaming with Elgato HD60s on the same laptop.

The ports

A laptop’s ports are probably the second most relevant factor to consider.

In order to use these ports as a dedicated machine for Elgato HD 60s, you must ensure there are enough USB 3 ports available.

You want to ensure that these ports are on both sides of the laptop because of the different buses in streaming lines. I mean one side for the capture card switch and the other side for webcams, microphones, etc.

The Thunderbolt

What’s better for live streaming, a USB-C port or a Thunderbolt 3 port?

The budget laptop you are buying must have a thunderbolt 3 port. Not just a USB-C port, make sure the laptop has thunderbolt 3. Without a thunderbolt, you will soon realize that your laptop is useless.

The reason to consider….

  •  Thunderbolt 3 is a type of hardware interface that uses USB Type-C, not just a connector.
  • USB type-C has a maximum transfer speed of 10 gigabytes per second compared to Thunderbolt 3’s 40 gigabytes per second.

The actual system drive (RAM) doesn’t need to be very large. However, if you intend to record your footage on a hard drive, one TB is perfect.

In laptops, thermal performance is much more significant than its specs or design. In laptops, thermal performance is more critical than specs or design.

In laptops, thermal performance is crucial if you want dynamic and uninterrupted performance.

This part will be your first priority as you are going to use Elgato HD60s.
